HERED INDUSTRIAL SENSORS

Capacitive Proximity Sensors

Define the material and its container first, then check the installation and electrical requirements.

Material & level detection

Application & selection

For applications involving material or level detection. Selection depends on the target, container and surrounding installation conditions.

  • Material presence checks
  • Liquid level detection
  • Powder or granule level checks

What to define before selection

Material and container

Identify the material being detected and any container wall between it and the sensor. Share wall material, thickness and the intended sensing position.

Distance and adjustment

Describe the working gap and the change you need to detect. Sensitivity should be assessed with the real material and installation.

Mounting conditions

Include nearby structures, build-up on the sensing face, humidity and cleaning conditions when describing the application.

Control connection

Confirm the supply, required output logic, controller input and cable or connector arrangement.

Tell us about your application

Share the following details so our team can review your requirements.

  • Material or liquid to detect, including changes in condition
  • Container material, wall thickness and installation position
  • Required switching point and available sensing gap
  • Supply, controller input and connection requirements

Selection questions

Can detection take place through a container wall?

It may be possible in a suitable installation. The target material, wall material, thickness and sensing arrangement all need to be checked together.

Will one adjustment suit different materials?

Do not assume that it will. Describe each material and its operating condition so the required adjustment and detection behaviour can be assessed.

What information helps with level detection?

Provide the material, container details, switching position and installation photographs. Mention build-up, moisture and any variation in the material.
