HERED INDUSTRIAL SENSORS

Pressure Sensors

Define the medium, pressure reference and required signal before choosing the process connection.

Pressure measurement & switching

Application & selection

For pressure measurement and switching applications. Define the medium, measurement range and pressure reference before selecting the electrical output.

  • Pneumatic pressure monitoring
  • Vacuum condition checks
  • Pressure-based control signals

What to define before selection

Medium and connection

Identify the gas or liquid and its temperature. Confirm wetted-material compatibility, thread standard, connection size and sealing arrangement.

Range and reference

State the measuring range with units and whether it is gauge, absolute or differential pressure. Include vacuum conditions when relevant.

Output and supply

Specify whether the controller needs a measurement signal or a switching output, then confirm the supply and connection.

Accuracy and pressure conditions

Describe the required accuracy and its reference basis. List normal pressure and possible peaks separately from the measurement range.

Tell us about your application

Share the following details so our team can review your requirements.

  • Medium, temperature and process connection details
  • Measuring range, units and pressure reference
  • Normal pressure, vacuum conditions and possible pressure peaks
  • Output, supply, accuracy requirement and controller input

Selection questions

Why must I specify the pressure reference?

Gauge pressure is referenced to ambient pressure, absolute pressure to vacuum, and differential pressure to another pressure point. The required reference is part of the measurement task.

Is the measurement range the same as the overload limit?

No. Specify the measuring range and any pressure peaks separately, then check both against the selected model’s documentation.

What is the difference between a measurement and switching output?

A measurement output represents pressure for monitoring or control; a switching output changes state at a set condition. State what the controller needs before selecting a model.
