HERED INDUSTRIAL SENSORS

Cylinder Position Sensors

Match the sensor to the cylinder, the mounting arrangement and the electrical load.

Pneumatic position feedback

Application & selection

For position feedback on compatible pneumatic cylinders. Match the switch, mounting and electrical requirements to the actual cylinder.

  • Cylinder end-position feedback
  • Pneumatic sequence confirmation
  • Compatible gripper position feedback

What to define before selection

Cylinder compatibility

Identify the cylinder series and confirm that it supports magnetic position sensing. Provide the groove dimensions or bracket arrangement.

Switch technology

Reed switches use contacts; solid-state sensors use electronic switching. Choose against the load, operating needs and actual electrical ratings.

Electrical load

Provide the supply or switching voltage, controller input and load requirements. Match the wiring and output type to the chosen sensor.

Position and installation

Show the required detection points, cable routing and available mounting space. Confirm adjustment access and the fastening method.

Tell us about your application

Share the following details so our team can review your requirements.

  • Cylinder brand, full series code and sensing compatibility
  • Groove drawing or bracket dimensions
  • Supply or switching voltage, load and controller input
  • Detection positions, cable route and connector requirements

Selection questions

Does every pneumatic cylinder accept a magnetic switch?

Confirm that the cylinder supports magnetic position sensing and has a compatible mounting arrangement. The cylinder model and drawing are the starting point.

Does the same groove name guarantee a fit?

Check the actual groove dimensions, sensor body, fastening method and detection position. A shared groove name alone does not establish compatibility.

Can I replace a reed switch with a solid-state sensor?

Check the wiring, supply, load and controller input as well as the mechanical fit. The electrical requirements may differ.
